Hi, I’m Jo (she/her),
a trauma-trained Somatic Sexologist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, and Sex & Relationship Coach
based in Ericeira, Portugal.

I work with individuals, couples, constellations and groups - online and in-person, in English and Portuguese - to help people come home to their bodies, attune their nervous system, and navigate intimacy, sexuality, and pleasure with more curiosity, compassion and presence, and with less judgement, shame and discomfort.

I’m also a friend, partner, lover, dog mom, plant enthusiast, forever student, and someone who believes deeply in holding space for the full spectrum of what it means to be human and navigate the complexity and co-existence of it all (because I know it’s a lot for us to hold alone).

All of this, is what lead me here. Is what keeps me going, and what motivates me on this mission to support humans in prioritizing connection in a world that teaches us disconnection.

I carry with me my firsthand experience of navigating complex trauma and relationships, and relearning the language of my body and nervous system, as the pathway that supported (and supports) me in navigating life, deepening my relationship with intimacy, and my passion about creating spaces where your experience is seen and held - without pressure to fix, perform, or “heal” beyond your capacity.

I’m gonna be real with you - I don’t believe in full “healing.” Life is always happening, and hard moments, difficult emotions, and challenges will always arise, some influenced by us, others completely beyond our control. But what we can do is learn to move through life with more support, awareness, compassion, and presence - so we can also feel the beauty, joy, and pleasure of being human, alongside the messiness and the pain that naturally comes with our existence.

I engage in professional supervision with certified, trusted supervisors. Supervision is a standard ethical practice in this field — it allows me to reflect on my work, ensure I’m offering you the best possible support, and maintain my own professional growth and wellbeing.

I’m committed to practicing ethically, inclusively, and with integrity. My work is grounded in professional standards that prioritize client safety, consent, and dignity.

I adhere to the following Codes of Conduct:

  • The Kink Education Code of Conduct (KECC): ensuring all kink-related education and coaching is informed, consent-based, and shame-free.
  • Somatic Experiencing Practitioner Code of Conduct: upholding ethical and safe practices in somatic trauma work.
  • The International Coaching Federation Code of Ethics (ICF): guiding my coaching practice with professionalism, accountability, and respect for client autonomy.

I am a trauma-trained and trauma-informed certified practitioner, equipped to work with trauma within the scope of my trainings (specified above). My work can support you in exploring how past trauma still lives in your body, how it shows up in your daily life, and how it may be impacting your present and future experiences.

Together, we work to cultivate nervous system safety in the here and now, supporting the body to gently process what is still being held. This can sometimes bring up memories, emotions, or insights connected to past experiences - but our focus is on what is present in your body today, rather than psychoanalysis of your history - with the goal to help you move towards more safety, connection, and agency in your life.

I am not a psychologist or psychotherapist. This means that in cases beyond my scope, I may recommend that you seek support from a licensed mental health professional alongside, beforehand or instead of our work together.
